It was a remarkable weekend for our competitive Youth and Junior fencers who participated in the South Coast Invitational RYC and Junior PCS. Our more experienced fencers dominated the sabre events winning 23 medals, while our novice fencers had a great learning experience by participating in this large regional event. 
Congratulations to the medal winners and to all of our fencers who competed in the tournament! Here are all of our top 8 finalists: Youth 10 Women's Sabre: Mary Barnett - 1st, Tiffany Cevatli - 3rd. Youth 10 Men's Sabre: Zachary Johnson - 3th, Shawn Kim - 5th, Kian Raissian - 6th, Nicholas Dinu - 7th, Jared Smith - 8th. Youth 12 Women's Sabre: Mary Barnett - 2nd, Kyla Obillos - 3rd, Mackenna Lamphere - 5th, Hanna Dougherty - 8th. Youth 12 Men's Sabre: Jayson Smith - 5th, Matthew Missogas - 7th. Youth 14 Women's Sabre: Danya Hu - 1st, Mary Barnett - 2nd, Mackenna Lamphere - 5th. Youth 14 Men's Sabre: Ian Jones - 2nd, Spencer Donavan - 3rd. Junior Women's Sabre: Danya Hu - 1st. On Sunday, December 13th, Elena participated in the Super Youth Circuit in Louisville, Kentucky. She won the gold medal in Y12 Women's Sabre, competing against some of the best fencers in the country! Congratulations, Elena! |
