Classes & Fees

All classes run on an ongoing basis and new students may join at any time. We encourage anyone interested in classes to come and participate; the first fencing practice is free.

 

Membership 

Gives you unlimited access to the facilities during free-fencing time and access to private lessons. This is for fencers that do not need instruction. There is an additional fee for classes.  All classes have the membership included in the price.

Cost: $60 per month (optionally $330 semi-annually or $600 annually for greater discounts);  family discounts are available.

 

 

 

Introductory class - Teens and adults (ages 14 and over)

Is designed to introduce you to the sport of fencing and give you the basic fundamentals you will need to start fencing. The class covers basic footwork, handwork, and distance control with an introduction to tactics and timing.  Membership and equipment rental is included in the price of the class.  If you wish, you may purchase your own equipment. We have a full-service store on site for your needs. Once you develop the basic skills, the coach will suggest moving up to the teens and adults class. It may take anywhere between 8 to 16 weeks to acquire the basic skill set.

 

Days & Times: Wednesday 7:00 - 8:00 pm

Frequency: Once a week

Dates: Ongoing; students may start any time

Cost: $110 per month (membership and equipment rental included); family discounts are available.

 

Introductory class - Youth (ages 9 - 13)

Is designed to introduce children age 9 to 13 to the sport of fencing and covers the same material as the Introductory class for teens and adults, but children will fence with others their own age. The class covers basic footwork, handwork, and distance control with an introduction to tactics and timing.  Membership and equipment rental is included in the price of the class.  If you wish, you may purchase your child his/her own equipment. We have a full-service store on site for your needs. Once the kids develop the basic skills, the coach will suggest moving up to the Youth class. It may take anywhere between 8 to 16 weeks to acquire the basic skill set.

 

Days & Times: Wednesday 5:00 - 6:00 pm, Saturday 1:30 - 2:30 pm

Frequency: Once or twice a week

Dates: Ongoing; students may start any time

Cost:

- $130 per month (twice a week - membership and equipment rental included); family discounts are available.

 

Youth Development (ages 6 - 8)

Is designed to introduce children age 6 to 8 to the sport of fencing. This is an ongoing class structured to provide fencing instruction in a curriculum appropriate for the very young kids. Fencing is taught in a fun and captivating atmosphere of games and activities with focus on general physical development, coordination, as well as fencing techniques. Membership and equipment rental is included in the price of the class.  If you wish, you may purchase your child his/her own equipment. We have a full-service store on site for your needs. 

 

Days & Times: Monday AND/OR Thursday 4:00 - 5:00 pm

Frequency: Once or twice a week

Dates: Ongoing; students may start any time

Cost:

- $110 per month (once a week - membership and equipment rental included); family discounts are available.

- $130 per month (twice a week - membership and equipment rental included); family discounts are available.

 

Teens and adults class 

This class is designed for fencers age 14 and older who have either completed the introductory class or have previous fencing experience.  The class includes more in-depth training in tactics and strategy along with additional technique. Membership is included in the price of the class. You may continue to rent the center's equipment, but you are encouraged to purchase your own. We have a full-service store on site for your needs. 

 

Days & Times: Monday 7:00 - 8:00 pm, Wednesday 6:00 - 7:00 pm, Saturday 10:00 - 11:00 am

Frequency: 2 times or 3 times a week

Dates: Ongoing; students may start any time

Cost:

- $130 per month (2 times a week - membership included);  family discounts are available.   

- $150 per month (3 times a week - membership included);  family discounts are available.   

 

Youth class

This class is designed for fencers age 9 -13 who have either completed the introductory class or have previous fencing experience.  The class includes more in-depth training in tactics and strategy along with additional technique. You must have a good foundation in footwork and handwork basics to take this class. Membership is included in the price of the class. You may continue to rent the center's equipment, but you are encouraged to purchase your own. We have a full-service store on site for your needs. 

 

Days & Times: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 5:00 - 6:00 pm

Frequency: 2 times or 3 times a week

Dates: Ongoing; students may start any time

Cost:

- $130 per month (2 times a week - membership included);  family discounts are available.

- $150 per month (3 times a week - membership included);  family discounts are available.

 

Elite competitive class

The elite competitive training class is by invitation only from the Head Coach. It is designed for the serious fencers who are willing to take their fencing to the next level.  All students are expected to have a solid command of basic hand and footwork and be ready for a strong cardiovascular workout. This is a higher intensity class that includes strength, speed and endurance training with a focus on competitive bouting, strategy and tactics.  Membership is included in the price of the class. This class is taught using electric equipment, and students must provide their own electric gear.

 

Days & Times: Tuesday AND/OR Thursday 6:00 - 7:30 pm AND/OR Saturday 12:00 - 1:30 pm

Frequency: 2 or 3 times a week 

Dates: Ongoing; students may start any time

Cost:

- $150 per month (2 times a week - membership included); family discounts are available.

- $170 per month (3 times a week - membership included); family discounts are available.    

 

 

Daily floor fee

This fee is applicable if you only want to drop in occasionally to free-fence.  No access to class instruction is included.

Cost: $15 per day
